LockBox Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Kid Kingdom concerning your download, installation, access to, and use of the LockBox mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and the LockBox Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms. The App is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age under applicable law.
You may not use the App if applicable law prohibits you from receiving or using it.
3. What LockBox Provides
LockBox is a local-only utility for storing encrypted account credentials and notes, searching and filtering local records, generating passwords, copying selected values, and unlocking the vault with a local PIN or optional operating-system biometrics.
LockBox does not create a Kid Kingdom user account and does not provide Kid Kingdom cloud storage, cloud backup, synchronization, remote recovery, credential monitoring, identity protection, or emergency account recovery. The current version does not include subscriptions or in-app purchases.
4. License
Subject to these Terms and applicable app-store rules, Kid Kingdom grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, and non-transferable license to install and use the App in object-code form on devices you own or control, solely for lawful personal or internal purposes.
For an App obtained through Apple's App Store, the license is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control as permitted by the Apple Media Services Usage Rules, except that the App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with the purchaser through Family Sharing or volume purchasing where Apple permits.
No right, title, or interest in the App is transferred to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Kid Kingdom and its licensors.
5. Your Vault Content
You retain any rights you have in the platform names, account names, passwords, notes, and other content you enter into the App ("User Content"). Kid Kingdom does not claim ownership of User Content and does not receive it through a LockBox server.
You represent that you have the right to store and use your User Content and that it does not violate law or another person's rights. You must not use LockBox to store or facilitate credentials, information, or access that you obtained unlawfully or are not authorized to possess.
6. Your Security Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- choosing and remembering your PIN;
- maintaining physical and logical control of your device;
- configuring a secure device passcode and supported biometric protection;
- keeping your operating system and the App updated;
- preventing unauthorized access to your unlocked device, screenshots, screen recordings, notifications, and clipboard;
- verifying copied credentials before using them; and
- maintaining any backup or recovery method available outside LockBox that you consider necessary and are legally permitted to maintain.
Do not disclose your PIN or store it together with an unlocked device. Use of a rooted, jailbroken, compromised, or unsupported device may defeat security controls.
7. No Recovery Guarantee
Kid Kingdom does not possess your PIN, plaintext vault content, or decryption key and cannot reset your PIN, remotely unlock the App, or recover your vault. If you forget your PIN and biometric unlock is unavailable, changes, or fails, your encrypted content may become permanently inaccessible.
Deleting a record, resetting the vault, uninstalling the App, losing or damaging the device, changing biometric enrollment, clearing operating-system secure storage, or an operating-system failure may result in permanent data loss. Reset Vault is destructive and cannot be undone.
8. Password Generator
The password generator uses cryptographically secure random generation and the options you select, but no generated password is guaranteed to satisfy every website's requirements or prevent compromise. You are responsible for reviewing generated passwords, storing them appropriately, and using unique credentials where suitable.
Kid Kingdom does not check whether a generated or stored password has appeared in a breach and does not monitor third-party accounts.
9. Biometrics, Speech Recognition, and Clipboard
Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint authentication, microphone access, speech recognition, clipboard behavior, and secure storage depend on operating-system and device services. Kid Kingdom does not control the continued availability, accuracy, security, or retention practices of those services.
Voice search is optional. Depending on your device and settings, audio may be processed on-device or transmitted to Apple, Google, or another system speech provider under that provider's terms. You may use typed search instead.
Copied information may be visible to the operating system, keyboards, other applications, or synchronized devices. LockBox attempts to clear sensitive clipboard content after approximately 45 seconds and when the vault locks, but clearing is not guaranteed.
10. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- use the App for illegal, fraudulent, abusive, harmful, or unauthorized activity;
- access, store, or use another person's credentials without authorization;
- bypass, disable, defeat, probe, or interfere with security or access controls;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works from the App except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- copy, sell, lease, sublicense, distribute, publish, or commercially exploit the App except as expressly permitted;
- introduce malware, malicious code, or content designed to damage a device or service;
- misrepresent affiliation with Kid Kingdom; or
- use the App in a way that violates applicable third-party terms, export controls, sanctions, or intellectual-property rights.
11. Third-Party Platforms and Terms
Your use of Apple, Google, device, biometric, speech, email, network, website, and account services is governed by the applicable third party's terms and privacy policy. You must comply with those terms, including app-store usage rules and any terms governing the accounts whose credentials you store.
Third-party service names and trademarks shown in platform presets identify compatibility or user-selected records. They do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation with Kid Kingdom.
12. Updates, Changes, and Availability
We may release updates that modify features, security requirements, compatibility, or these Terms. You may need to install an update to continue using the App safely. We do not promise that the App will support every device, operating-system version, speech provider, or third-party platform indefinitely.
We may suspend or discontinue distribution or support of the App. Discontinuation does not give Kid Kingdom access to your local vault and does not create a recovery service. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of material changes through the App or store listing.
13. Intellectual Property
The App, including its software, interface, design, graphics, trademarks, documentation, and non-user content, is owned by Kid Kingdom or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. LockBox and associated branding may not be used without authorization.
Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. Where required, those licenses control for the applicable component.
14. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide ideas or feedback about the App, you grant Kid Kingdom a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable right to use that feedback for any lawful purpose without compensation or obligation to you. This does not grant us rights in your vault content.
15. Privacy
The LockBox Privacy Policy explains information practices relating to the App and is incorporated into these Terms. You should review it before using microphone, speech-recognition, biometric, clipboard, or support features.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available." Kid Kingdom disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility, security, and preservation or recovery of data.
LockBox is a security aid, not a guarantee against account compromise, device compromise, unauthorized access, data loss, identity theft, or third-party service failure. You assume the risk of relying on a single device or a single copy of important information.
17. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that applicable law requires.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kid Kingdom and its owners, personnel, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of credentials, data, access, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or opportunities; account lockout; unauthorized access; or costs of substitute services, arising from or related to the App, even if advised that such harm was possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, aggregate liability arising from or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of ten U.S. dollars (USD $10) or the amount you paid specifically for the App during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kid Kingdom and its owners, personnel, affiliates, and licensors from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the App, unauthorized credentials or content you store, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Kid Kingdom's own unlawful conduct.
19. Termination
These Terms remain effective until terminated. You may terminate them at any time by stopping use and uninstalling the App. Kid Kingdom may terminate the license if you materially violate these Terms, subject to applicable law.
Upon termination, your license ends and you must stop using the App. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law, and dispute provisions, will survive. Termination does not cause Kid Kingdom to receive or delete your local vault; use Reset Vault if you want to erase it before uninstalling.
20. Export and Legal Compliance
You represent that you are not located in a country or region subject to a United States Government embargo or designated by the United States Government as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on any United States Government prohibited or restricted party list. You must comply with applicable export-control, sanctions, and local laws.
21. Apple App Store Terms
If you obtained the App through Apple's App Store, you and Kid Kingdom acknowledge and agree that:
- these Terms are between you and Kid Kingdom, not Apple, and Kid Kingdom is solely responsible for the App and its content;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App;
- to the extent any applicable warranty cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple if the App fails to conform to that warranty, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as provided by Apple; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation;
- Kid Kingdom, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product-liability, legal-compliance, consumer-protection, and privacy claims;
- Kid Kingdom, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging a third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual-property rights;
- you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App; and
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-specific provisions against you after your acceptance.
Apple's standard End User License Agreement also applies where required by the App Store and is not replaced by these Terms unless Kid Kingdom expressly submits a compliant custom license agreement through App Store Connect.
22. Google Play Terms
If you obtained the App through Google Play, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Kid Kingdom, not Google. Google is not responsible for the App, maintenance, support, warranties, or claims relating to the App except to the extent required by law or Google Play's applicable terms. Your use of Google Play and Android services remains subject to Google's applicable terms.
23. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory consumer rights and any jurisdiction that applicable law requires, courts located in San Francisco County, California will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the App.
If you are a consumer, you retain mandatory rights and may be entitled to bring a claim in your place of residence. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow 30 days for an informal attempt to resolve the issue.
24. General Terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Kid Kingdom regarding the App, except for mandatory app-store terms. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; Kid Kingdom may assign them in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the App, subject to law. Headings are for convenience only.
The English version is the controlling version to the extent permitted by law. A translation is provided for convenience; mandatory local-language consumer protections continue to apply.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, law, security, or business practices. The updated Terms will state a new effective date and will be made available in the App and on the public terms page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If applicable law requires separate consent, we will request it.
